Life Membership
Life Membership in FGCNYS helps fund scholarships available through FGCNYS. It is often awarded to a member* by their club to recognize an incoming or outgoing President, the chair of a successful fundraiser or committee, someone celebrating a milestone anniversary in your garden club, or any member that you, your club or even a family member wishes to honor.
The privileges of Life Membership include:
· Attendance at FGCNYS and Life Membership events
· Special acknowledgment when attending FGCNYS events
· A Life Membership pin and card
· Lifetime listing on the FGCNYS Directory of Life Members
· Receipt of “The News” even when no longer active in a club
· Attendance, in any one calendar year, in one course or symposium held in New York State for payment of 1/2 of the registration fee provided one is not taking the course for credit. All credit courses are charged the full amount.
Honor an FGCNYS Member with Life Membership
A donation of $100 must accompany the Life Membership application Form. This donation is used to fund the Life Member Educational Fund and Life Member Award Funds.
The Life Member Educational Fund consists of $70.00 from each Life Membership. It is to be used upon authorization from the Board of Directors for FGCNYS sponsored school scholarships and projects and programs in the field of education, horticulture or conservation.
The Life Member Award Fund consists of $30 from each Life Membership. Interest from this fund will be used to cover expenses associated with FGCNYS Awards.
Life Membership is a one-time donation. If your outgoing President or other members already have an FGCNYS Life Membership -- and you would like to recognize them* again -- please consider awarding them a CAR-SGC Life Membership. The one-time donation amount is just $50.
